Day 9 – Doi Inthanon National Park

Day 2 – Bamboo rafting and elephant conservation and sanctuary

Got a very cute wake up call this morning
Went rafting down the local river. The rafts were made out of bamboo
Learned how to make a healthy treat for the elephants and all about their diets
They look very dirty from the mud in the river
Got to swim in the river while the elephants cooled off
Saw our friend the parrot one last time before leaving

Doi Inthanon National Park is home to numerous elephant sanctuaries, many elephants whom have now escaped abuse. The accommodation we stayed in is working towards adopting all the elephants from neighbouring sanctuaries in order to provide them with happier, free roaming lives.
